The third season of Heartstopper is coming to Netflix this fall, and it will be as star-studded as it gets. Jonathan Bailey, Hayley Atwell, and Eddie Marsan will play key supporting roles when Heartstopper returns for its third season in October.

Rumors about Bailey’s potential casting started circling last month, and things are finally official. Heartstopper team teased his casting with a short video that sees him playing Jack Maddox, an Instagram-famous writer who just happens to be Charlie’s celebrity crush.

In addition to the Bridgerton actor, Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter) and Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan) will also star in Season 3. Atwell will play Nick’s Aunt Diane, who takes him to Menorca over the summer, while Marsan joined the cast as Charlie’s wise and straight-talking therapist Geoff.

Alice Oseman, who created this series for Netflix, is looking forward to welcoming the new cast members on board.

“I am incredibly excited to be welcoming three new cast members to the Heartstopper family… It was an absolute joy to see Hayley, Eddie, and Jonathan’s talent alongside our existing cast, and I can’t wait for the Heartstopper fans to meet these new characters,” said Oseman in a statement.

Joe Locke and Nick Nelson lead Heartstopper as Charlie and Nick, while the supporting cast includes William Gao, Yasmin Finney, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Tobie Donovan, Jenny Walser, Rhea Norwood, and Leila Khan.

Luca Guadagnino’s tennis film Challengers is serving some drama in the theatres right now, and people can’t get enough of its leading trio Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist. If you’re in the mood to explore their filmography, here are three shows worth checking out.

Zendaya – Euphoria

Zendaya rose to prominence as the star of Disney Channel shows Shake It Up and K.C. Undercover, but those days are long behind her. She’s now best known as the star of HBO’s hit teen drama Euphoria, which won her two Emmy Awards for the best lead actress in a drama.

Josh O’Connor – The Crown

If Zendaya’s co-star Josh O’Connor looks familiar, it’s probably because you’ve seen him in The Crown. These two projects perfectly illustrate his range and his volatile Challengers characters in nothing like his Emmy-winning portrayal of Prince Charles in Netflix’s royal drama.

Mike Faist – Panic

Mike Faist is best known as the theatre actor, who made a successful transition to Hollywood with the role in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story. He doesn’t have too many notable TV credits under his belt yet, but his Amazon Prime Video series Panic about a group of high school seniors taking part in a deadly competition to win a life-changing prize is worth checking out.

One Piece is one of Netflix’s biggest breakout hits to come out last year, and its second season looks quite promising. The live-action manga adaptation will undergo a major creative overhaul in Season 2 after Joe Tracz agreed to hop on board as a co-showrunner.

Based on Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga series, One Piece follows the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates, a group of young adventurers seeking the fabled treasure known as “One Piece”.

Steve Maeda and Matt Owens co-created this series for Netflix and serve as showrunners of Season 1. Maeda is still on board as an executive producer, but he stepped down as a showrunner, letting Joe Tracz take his spot.

Tracz, whose credits include Percy Jackson and the Olympians and A Series of Unfortunate Events, said he’s been lucky to work on big adaptations of several beloved works, and he’s looking forward to adding another one to his resume.

“I’m a huge fan of Oda-san’s incredible imagination and I was blown away by what the live-action team created in Season One. So it’s a dream and a joy to come aboard the Going Merry as it enters the Grand Line for an even more giant Season 2,” said Tracz in a statement.

Yaa Gyasi received rave reviews for her second novel Transcendent Kingdom, and its TV adaptation is on the way. Yvonne Orji joined forces with Sony Pictures Television to develop and produce the adaptation of this acclaimed book under her first-look deal with the studio.

Transcendent Kingdom centers on Gifty, a neuroscientist in training trying to make sense of the suffering she’s seen all around her. She’s trying to reconcile her present-day life and her childhood as a first-generation Ghanaian in rural Alabama while turning to hard sciences in an attempt to unlock the mystery of her family’s loss.

This project will be developed under Orji’s first-look deal with Sony, and the Insecure star said she was excited to partner up with this studio when she signed it a year ago.

“From the first meeting with Katherine Pope and the rest of her amazing executive team, I knew this was the right home for me. They got my vision immediately and were genuinely enthusiastic about the stories I wanted to tell that bridge the diaspora,” said Orji in a statement.

Orji rose to prominence with her Emmy-nominated role in HBO’s Insecure. She most recently starred in Vacation Friends 2 and voiced the animated series Velma and My Dad the Bounty Hunter.

CBS recently renewed many of their beloved series, but two of them just ended up on the chopping block. CSI: Vegas is going off the air after three seasons, while the legal dramedy So Help Me Todd was canceled after just two seasons.

CSI: Vegas launched on CBS in 2021, as one of the latest additions to the ever-growing CSI franchise. Seeing it stick around for three seasons is pretty impressive considering that CBS initially conceived it as a limited series revival of the mothership drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which ran between 2000 and 2015.

As for So Help Me Todd, a legal dramedy led by Skylar Astin and Marcia Gay Harden is coming to an end after two seasons. It followed the aimless private investigator, who agrees to work for his mother’s law firm.

CBS didn’t give a reason for the cancelation of these two series, but it’s safe to assume they’ve decided to ax them in an attempt to make room for new shows joining their 2024-25 lineup. NCIS: Origins, Matlock, and Watson are all expected to premiere on CBS this fall, and the network is most likely expecting them to perform better than CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd.

Suits: L.A. pilot recently kicked off production in Vancouver, Canada, and it’s shaping up to be pretty promising. Three amazing actors just joined this spin-off series in guest-starring roles, including Victoria Justice, John Amos, and Kevin Weisman.

Suits: L.A. is the offshoot of the popular legal drama Suits, and it centers on a former New York federal prosecutor Ted Black, who decides to move to the West Coast and reinvent himself as a criminal and entertainment attorney, representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.

Stephen Amell was cast as the lead in this project, and he’ll be joined by several supporting players, including Lex Scott Davis, Bryan Greenberg, Josh McDermitt, and Troy Winbush. Victoria Justice, John Amos, and Kevin Weisman are the latest actors cast in this project, in a guest-starring capacity.

Justice (Victorious) will portray confident and ambitious movie star Dylan Pryor, who’s still on the way up and looking for legal representation. Amos (The West Wing) will play himself, as a client of Ted’s firm who has a longstanding friendship with him. Weisman (Alias) joined the cast as Lester Thompson, a smart and powerful man who’s used to always getting his way, but is forced to change his ways after being charged with murder.

It’s been two decades since Oldboy introduced Park Chan-wook to a wider audience, and its legacy still lives on. Lionsgate Television decided to revisit this classic South Korean film by developing an English-language series set in the same universe.

The original film came out in 2003, as the second part of a trilogy that also included Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. It was based on Garon Tsuchiya’s manga, and it chronicled the adventures of Oh Dae-su, who has five days to find his captor after being imprisoned for 15 years.

Park Chan-wook will produce the upcoming TV remake with his producing partner Syd Lim. The visionary filmmaker said he’s excited to join forces with Lionsgate because their brand stands for bold, original, and risk-taking storytelling, adding they share the same creative vision for this project.

Scott Herbst, EVP and head of scripted development at Lionsgate Television, described Park as one of the most visionary storytellers of his generation and said they’re looking forward to joining forces.

“We’re excited to partner with him in bringing his cinematic masterpiece to the television screen. This series adaptation of Oldboy will feature the raw emotional power, iconic fight scenes, and visceral style that made the film a classic,” said Herbst in a statement.

Sweet Tooth is ending its run later this year, and Netflix has finally given us the taste of its grand finale. The first teaser trailer for Season 3 of the beloved fantasy drama is finally here, and it sees Gus embarking on an epic journey in Alaska.

Based on Jeff Lemire’s comic book series of the same name, Sweet Tooth centers on the 10-year-old part-deer boy Gus, searching for his mother in a post-pandemic world affected by a mysterious disease that led to the collapse of society and the emergence of hybrids born with animal traits.

Season 3 will see Gus continue his journey with his friends across the perilous terrains of Alaska. Christian Convery will return in the lead role, and he’ll be joined by Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar, Stefania LaVie Owen, Naledi Murray, Amy Seimetz, and Kelly Marie Tran, who’s been added to the cast as a series regular.

Sweet Tooth creator Jim Mickle promised that the show’s final season will be another road trip story, and revealed it will see our favorite characters embarking on quite an emotional journey,

“In Season 3, everybody is dealing with some kind of wound or emotional loss, whether that was somebody in their life or a part of themselves. Everybody is looking inward and looking to move on and ultimately learning that life doesn’t stop,” Mickle told Netflix.

ABC announced the renewal of several hit shows in recent weeks, and The Rookie is the next one in line. Nathan Fillion and the rest of the gang will be back for another ride after ABC renewed this hit police procedural drama for its seventh season.

Fillion leads this series as John Nolan, who graduated from the Police Academy as the oldest rookie on the force. He then joins the LAPD as the oldest rookie in department history and must navigate the unpredictable and dangerous nature of his new job in his 40s.

The show’s sixth season premiered on ABC back in February, and here’s what it has in store, according to the network’s official logline:

“Nolan feels like it can’t get much better, now that his life with Bailey (Dewan) is moving forward, and he has chosen his career path. However, he and his team must grapple with the aftermath of their recent assaults before they can move forward.”

In addition to Fillion in the lead role, The Rookie also stars Mekia Cox, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, Jenna Dewan, Shawn Ashmore, Tru Valentino, and Lisseth Chavez.

Renewing The Rookie makes total sense for ABC given its strong Season 6 ratings, with the premiere episode attracting 11.92 million multi-platform viewers after 35 days of viewing.

Ryan Murphy is plotting his next ABC series Dr. Odyssey, and he’s slowly rounding out the cast of this project. Golden Globe winner Don Johnson joined the leading man Joshua Jackson in this promising medical procedural.

Murphy co-wrote this series alongside Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, but plot details are being kept under wraps. We only know this project will be a medical procedural, and Deadline reports it will be set on a cruise ship. ABC didn’t share any details about the characters played by Jackson and Johnson.

Johnson is a Hollywood veteran who rose to prominence during the 80s and 90s, with lead roles in the hit series Miami Vice and Nash Bridges. He recently reprised the role from the latter show in the Nash Bridges revival film, in addition to starring in Watchmen, Blood & Oil, and From Dusk till Dawn: The Series.

Dr. Odyssey hails from writers Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken, who’ll executive produce the show alongside Jackson, director Paris Barclay, plus Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, and Nissa Diederich. This is the first series Murphy developed for ABC after moving his overall deal from Netflix to 20th Television.
