Alec Baldwin has a storied career that saw him take on numerous iconic roles on both the big screen and television. But despite this, he never got to fulfill his dream of starring in HBO’s legendary crime drama The Sopranos.

Baldwin recently made an appearance on the Talking Sopranos podcast, hosted by series stars Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa, and revealed that he once relentlessly pursued a very specific role on the show. According to the Emmy Award-winning actor, he wanted to play a man who gets to “whack” mob boss Tony Soprano and then “ride off” with Tony’s wife Carmela.

Unfortunately for Baldwin, his attempts were unsuccessful. “They were like, ‘Sure, great. We’ll add your name to the list of all the Irish actors who think that they should be on The Sopranos,” said Baldwin about the response he got.

The reason why Baldwin didn’t get a call might have to do with the fact that his idea would completely change the show’s ending.

If you watched The Sopranos, then you probably know that the character Baldwin describes doesn’t exist. The show ends with Tony sitting to have dinner with his family, and there is no indication that someone might “whack” him and “ride off” with his wife.

There is also a chance that Alec Baldwin missed out on The Sopranos appearance because of his awkward run-in with the show’s creator David Chase. Baldwin told Imperioli and Schirripa that he first met Chase in a bathroom of a Four Seasons restaurant while trying to dry off his shirt with a mechanical dryer.

“And I think based on that alone, I was never cast on your show,” he explained.

You can watch Baldwin’s appearance on Talking Sopranos in full below.

Good news, everyone! The Breaking Bad movie is wrapped up, and Netflix has finally decided to share a teaser trailer and the release date.

The streaming service giant revealed that the full-length feature film based on the popular AMC drama will be released on October 11th on their platform. The movie, officially titled El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, will also be aired on AMC at a later date.

As part of the announcement, Netflix also released a short teaser trailer for the movie. The clip shows Skinny Pete (Charles Baker) locked up in an interrogation room, where a group of agents is trying to persuade him to reveal Jesse Pinkman’s (Aaron Paul) location.

“In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future,” read the official synopsis.

Vince Gilligan, who created the original Breaking Bad television series, has directed and written the movie. The streaming service, however, was tight-lipped about further details and whether other main characters from the show besides Pinkman, like Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), will make an appearance.

Breaking Bad originally aired on AMC for five seasons and is widely regarded as one of the best shows in the history of television. During its time on television, the series won numerous awards and accolades, including 16 Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards.

The Big Bang Theory is wrapping up soon, but don’t worry; CBS found a way to make up for this. The network just announced that the TBBT’s spinoff Young Sheldon, which is currently in its second season, is getting renewed for two more seasons.

“Thanks to Chuck Lorre’s and Steve Molaro’s outstanding creative leadership, Young Sheldon has been a powerful performer for the Network with an audience that towers over most of the television landscape,” – said President of CBS Entertainment Kelly Kahl in a statement.

Ordering seasons three and four of Young Sheldon makes a lot of sense for CBS since the show is currently the second most watched comedy on television behind The Big Bang Theory. After averaging 16.3 million viewers in its freshmen year, the series now averages around 14.5 million viewers every week.

“The Coopers are portrayed by an amazing cast, and we are looking forward to having the gifted writing staff mine even more of Sheldon’s hilarious backstory and the warm family dynamic that has made this comedy a favorite with audiences for the past two seasons.” – added Thom Sherman, Senior EVP of Programming at CBS.

Young Sheldon debuted in September 2017, serving as a spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory. The series focuses on Sheldon Cooper growing up with his family in East Cast. Besides Iain Armitage as young Sheldon, the series’ cast also includes Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts.

Roseanne was a huge success during its initial run from 1988 to 1997. The sitcom was critically acclaimed for its realistic portrayal of a working-class American family and became one of the highest rated television shows in the early ’90s. Roseanne enjoyed similar success when NBC decided to revive the sitcom in 2018 for season 10, with two further seasons being planned.

These plans never came to fruition, however, since the sitcom was canceled recently. To help you deal with seeing Conners bowing out from TV screens once again, we decided to bring you 10 things you probably didn’t know about Roseanne.

Roseanne Was a Trend-Starter
Roseanne started the trend of giving comedians their own sitcoms. While Roseanne Barr wasn’t the first comedian to make a transition to television, she was by far the most successful one. As a result, Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Brett Butler, Ellen DeGeneres, Ray Romano and others got their own TV shows.

Original Title
The original title of the show was Life and Stuff. But Roseanne argued that the show should be called by her name, as she was the lead character and show was based on her life.

Show’s Location
The show’s exterior shots are in Evansville, Indiana, not Illinois. Evansville is the birthplace of show’s co-executive producer, Matt Williams.

Ulterior Motives
John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf were cast because of their experience and brilliant acting skills. Roseanne Barr never acted before and producers believed a strong supporting cast would give her the necessary confidence.

Theme Song
The instrumental version of the theme song was used throughout eight seasons. But in ninth and final season, Roseanne got a new theme. Perhaps it was a foreshadowing of a bizarre finale.

Macaulay Culkin
Macaulay Culkin auditioned for the role of D.J. If he had gotten the role, we might have never got the Home Alone movies we know and love today. Instead, Roseanne Barr’s favorite, Michael Fishman, got the role.

No Emmy for Roseanne
While the cast won numerous awards, including Emmys for Outstanding Supporting and Lead Actress, the show itself never won any Emmy nominations or awards.

First Primetime Show to Feature Openly Gay Characters
Barr insisted on having openly gay characters throughout the show. From friends, family members, to co-workers and neighbors. In season eight, there was even a gay marriage. While it may be normal today, it was extremely controversial during the 1990s.

Roseanne Jumpstarted Careers
The show helped Joss Whedon to launch his career as he was only 24 at the time when he wrote episodes for show’s second season. It also helped Amy Sherman-Palladino and Chuck Lore hone their skills.

Ex-Husbands
Roseanne featured all three Roseanne Barr’s ex-husbands. The show was inspired by Barr’s first husband, Bill Pentland and their three children. He played Dan’s buddy in early episodes. Tom Arnold, her second husband, appeared as Arnie Thomas. Ben Thomas, third husband and former bodyguard, played a cop on the sitcom.

Set decades after adventures of Captain Kirk, this next generation of Starfleet officers is led by Captain Jean-Luc Picard. The new starship, Enterprise-D, is also home to some new crewmembers from alien races including Deanna Troi, a half-Betazoid, and Worf, the first Klingon officer in Starfleet. Star Trek: The Next Generation eventually became even more popular than the original and is viewed as one of the best TV shows of all time.

Don’t you hate when a TV show you like gets canceled? Television networks usually don’t have enough patience and are only interested in achieving highest possible ratings as soon as possible. This is why we have so many great TV shows that were canceled too soon.

Today we decided to bring you five of them that ended their run way too soon and left fans asking for more. Nobody is listening just yet, but maybe Netflix will soon. You never know.

Kitchen Confidential

Bradley Cooper as a bad-boy chef Jack Bourdain running a New York restaurant. How could a TV show like this get axed too soon? Well, Fox didn’t even give a chance to Kitchen Confidential, airing just four episodes before pulling the plug on the show. It is worth noting that the show was inspired by Anthony Bourdain’s book Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly.

Rome

Rome was an example how of a historic television show should look like. It followed the rise of ancient Rome while also focusing on two fictionalized Roman soldiers, Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo. Two seasons aired on HBO and BBC, both of them receiving critical acclaim and becoming popular with the audience. Still, that wasn’t enough to keep Rome on air, with the show being canceled due to high production costs.

Freaks and Geeks

Produced by Judd Apatow, Freaks and Geeks followed accomplished high school student Lindsay (Linda Cardellini) who starts hanging out with a group of slackers, and her brother Sam (John Francis Daley) as he tries to navigate high school with his geek friends. The series featured numerous young actors that later went on to make successful Hollywood careers including Jason Segel, Seth Rogen, and James Franco. Only 18 episodes aired before NBC canceled the series. Freaks and Geeks received a cult following later and is regularly featured on best TV shows lists and also deserves a high spot on our list of best TV shows that were canceled too soon.

Deadwood

HBO rarely misses when it comes to TV shows, but with Deadwood they made a big mistake. The story of the show takes place in the 1870s and revolves around the city of Deadwood, South Dakota, and characters who live in it. Deadwood managed to stay alive for three seasons before HBO decided not to renew it for season three after the contracts of the cast expired. Deadwood received critical acclaim during its original run and is now considered to be one of the greatest TV dramas ever made.

Firefly

The top spot on our list of TV shows that were canceled too soon belongs to Joss Whedon’s Firefly. The show is set in 2517 and follows the crew of spaceship Serenity after they arrive in a new star system. Since Firefly aired on Fox and didn’t immediately hit the desired number of viewers, the network decided to cancel the show after 11 episodes were aired. Firefly is now considered to be among the best space-themed series ever made and has a cult status.

Apple has given a straight-to-series order to a comedy based on the life of American poet Emily Dickinson, with Academy Award-nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld (Pitch Perfect 3, True Grit) being attached to play the lead role in the project. The series will be written by Alena Smith (The Affair, The Newsroom) and directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Vice Principals).

Officially titled Dickinson, the series will “take viewers into the world of Dickinson and explore the constraints of society, gender, and family from the perspective of a budding writer who doesn’t fit into her own time through her imaginative point of view. ” It will be set in in the 1800s but should have “modern sensibility and tone.”

Emily Dickinson is considered to be one of the greatest poets in the history of American literature. She has written nearly 1,800 poems, but only several of them were published during her lifetime. After Emily’s death in 1886, her younger sister Lavinia discovered her poems collection and introduced them to the rest of the world.

This will be first television lead role for Hailee Steinfeld after she previously guest-starred in comedies Back to You and Sons of Tucson. Besides Dickinson, Steinfeld’s other future projects include starring in Transformers‘ spinoff Bumblebee: The Movie and working on her debut music album.

Television networks have gone a bit crazy these past few years, reviving and rebooting both the shows that deserved it and those that should have been left alone. But, if you ask us, That ’70s Show is certainly one of the sitcoms we would like to see returning to the small screen.

As it turns out, Topher Grace, who portrayed the character of Eric on the sitcom, also wouldn’t’ have anything against That ’70s Show reboot. The 39-year-old actor recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and was asked whether he would embrace or oppose to the reboot of the show that launched his acting career.

“I would do it for sure because that was a very wonderful time for us,” Grace said. “We were all very close, having that experience every single day with each other. It was great to broadcast it out once a week, but, like, I’m still great friends with those guys.”

Despite his willingness to do it if the opportunity arises, Topher Grace still thinks that the reboot won’t happen.

“Yeah, I don’t think it will happen,” he added. “It would be so hard to bring that crew together. For me, I’d do it if no one ever saw it. Just ’cause it would be great to hang out with them for a week or something.”

That ’70s Show premiered on Fox in 1998 and revolved around a group of teenagers living in the fictional town of Point Place, Wisconsin in the 1970s. Besides Grace, the sitcom also starred Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Laura Prepon and Wilmer Valderrama among others.

Topher Grace didn’t stay during the entire run of That ’70s Show, choosing to leave the sitcom after season seven and make a transition into feature films. Since then he starred in movies like Traffic, Spider-Man 3, The Big Wedding, and War Machine.

Back in April 2016, FX renewed its sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, for season 13 and 14 which meant we have at least two more seasons of the show left. But what about season 15? Well, that might not be a long shot according to the sitcom’s star Charlie Day.

Day recently spoke with The Wrap and said that he and rest of the cast are pushing for 15th season as well, hoping to make It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia the longest running live-action sitcom in American TV history. With season 14, FX’s sitcom would be tied with The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.

“You definitely get Season 13, which we’re making right now, and Season 14, which were contracted to do, and then beyond that, it’ll be up to FX,” Day told The Wrap. “But I think 15 is the record for a comedy, so I imagine we’ll all want to hold the record for the longest-running comedy in America. Fifteen would be the record for the longest live-action comedy, so we’ll probably try and break that record if we can.”

Season twelve, which wrapped up with a finale aired on March 8, 2017, saw Dennis (Glenn Howerton) leaving the bar and deciding to focus on fatherhood. It still remains unclear whether Howerton will reprise his character in seasons 13 and 14, with Charlie Day hinting that we could.

“It’s top secret, I can’t say anything,” said Day. “But I can say that the fans should feel hopeful. The fans should feel hopeful that they’ll see some more Dennis … There have been discussions.”

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia premiered on FX in 2005, focusing on a group of friends, known as “The Gang,” who run an Irish bar in South Philadelphia. The sitcom received critical acclaim during its run, with some of the critics going as far as calling it “the best sitcom on television.” Besides Day and Howerton, sitcom also stars Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson, and Danny DeVito.

The CW announced that they are rebooting cult fantasy drama Charmed back in January and received serious backlash from the fans of the original who even started #StopCharmedReboot campaign on Twitter. The stars of the original, Holly Marie Combs and Shannen Doherty, also joined the criticism but The CW went on with the project and the reboot is set to be included in the network’s fall programming schedule.

The CW president Mark Pedowitz now decided to address the backlash and expressed hope that the fans will give the new cast a chance.

“Hopefully they would give this new cast a chance. It is not quite the same, yet there are many similarities. Hopefully, they’ll give it a shot,” Pedowitz told reporters on Thursday. “We are happy with who we cast, we think it’s a nice mix. We’re thrilled that (showrunner) Jennie Snyder Urman has reimagined it somewhat and I can only say to fans: Before you make a decision, watch the series.”

The CW ordered a pilot for the reboot in January 2018 and gave it a series order in May. The series stars Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz, and Sarah Jeffrey as three sisters – Macy, Mel and Madison- who get reunited after their mother’s death and discover they are witches. Rupert Evans, Ser’Darius Blain, Ellen Tamaki, and Charlie Gillespie join in as regular members of the cast.
