The Crown was the obvious frontrunner at this year’s Golden Globes, and it ended up picking awards in all the categories it was nominated in by the end of the night. It scored a total of four awards, with Schitt’s Creek and The Queen’s Gambit right behind with two.
The hit Netflix series managed to beat the likes of Lovecraft Country, The Mandalorian, Ozark, and Ratched, reigning supreme in the best television series – drama field. It also ruled the acting categories, with Josh O’Connor, Emma Corrin, and Gillian Anderson all picking up awards for their respective performances.
When it comes to comedy categories, Schitt’s Creek repeated its Emmy success and won the best television series – musical or comedy award. Catherine O’Hara won an acting award for her role in this sitcom, while Jason Sudeikis pulled an upset with Ted Lasso, picking up the trophy for the best actor in a comedy series. The Queen’s Gambit and its star Anya Taylor-Joy led the way in the miniseries and television film field.
This year’s Golden Globe Awards took place on February 28th, with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler serving as co-hosts.
