The Golden Globes are returning in less than a month to reward some of the year’s best TV dramas and comedies. The list of nominees is finally in, with Succession leading the way with five nods, closely followed by Ted Lasso with four.
HBO’s satire about an influential family running a major media conglomerate is the main contender for the best drama series award. Succession’s stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, and Kieran Culkin also received nominations in their respective categories.
The Morning Show is also a major contender in the drama field, despite the mixed reception of the second season. In addition to receiving a nod for the best drama series, its stars Jennifer Aniston, Mark Duplass, and Billy Crudup are in the running for acting awards.
Ted Lasso is leading the way in the comedy field with four nominations, but it will have to face some tough competition. The Great, Hacks, and Only Murders in the Building are right behind with three nods each, including the best comedy series.
The Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 9th, 2022, but the broadcaster, venue, and hosts are yet to be announced.
