Abbott Elementary has been winning awards left and right since its premiere and it’s a front-runner at another major ceremony. The list of 2023 Golden Globe nominations is in and the ABC sitcom topped the list of nominations in the TV field with five nods.

Abbott Elementary is one of the contenders in one of the night’s most important categories—best television series— comedy or musical. It will have to face tough competition to win this award since the list of nominees also includes The Bear, Hacks, Only Murders in the Building, and Wednesday.

Abbott Elementary owes the rest of the nominations to its amazing cast, including Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, and Sheryl Lee Ralph, who’ve all received nominations in their respective categories.

As for the drama field, The Crown is this year’s most-nominated show with four nods, including best television series – drama. Its stars Imelda Staunton, Jonathan Pryce, and Elizabeth Debicki are all in the running for acting awards.

When it comes to limited and anthology series, the field is more crowded than ever, with Pam & Tommy, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, and The White Lotus receiving four nods each. They’re all in the running for best limited or anthology series awards, along with Black Bird and The Dropout.

The 2023 Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 10, 2023, with Jerrod Carmichael hosting for the first time.
