The Gotham TV Awards will take place for the first time this year, and their inaugural list of nominees is pretty impressive. The Curse, Shōgun, and Bodkin topped the nominations, along with such global hits as Netflix’s Baby Reindeer and Amazon’s Fallout.
Jeffrey Sharp, Gotham’s executive director, said they’re dedicated to celebrating and nurturing independent media, and added they’re looking forward to widening their reach and expanding their impact with the inaugural Gotham TV Awards.
“In a historic moment for The Gotham, we’re thrilled to recognize an extraordinary collection of TV series and the brilliant creators responsible for bringing them to the screen… We are enormously proud to celebrate the remarkable talent represented in today’s nominations,” said Sharp in a statement.
The Curse is one of the ceremony’s most-nominated shows with three nods, including the breakthrough best drama series. Shōgun will also be competing for three accolades, including breakthrough limited series, while Bodkin received three nods in the comedy categories. The list of shows with multiple nods also includes Baby Reindeer, Fallout, Black Cake, Ripley, and The Sympathizer, among others.
The Gotham TV Awards represent the extension of the existing Gotham Awards, and the inaugural ceremony will take place on June 4 in New York City.
