The Golden Globes and Emmy Awards may be behind us, but our favorite shows are not done winning prestigious accolades. The People’s Choice Awards returned to Santa Monica on Sunday night, and Grey’s Anatomy and Only Murders in the Building emerged as the top winners in the TV field.
Grey’s Anatomy won a single trophy at the People’s Choice Awards – but it was a big one! The medical drama was named the show of the year, beating the likes of The Bear, The Last of Us, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Only Murders in the Building, Saturday Night Live, Ted Lasso, and Vanderpump Rules.
Despite losing the main award to Grey’s Anatomy, Only Murders in the Building managed to pick up a trophy for the comedy of the year, beating the Emmy winners Ted Lasso and The Bear. Selena Gomez won a trophy for the female TV star of the year for her work on this show.
Only Murders was one of the three shows to walk away with multiple trophies, alongside The Kardashians and The Last of Us, with two awards each.
The 2024 People’s Choice Awards took place on February 18 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, with Simu Liu hosting the ceremony for the first time.
