The Primetime Emmy Awards are less than a month away, and this year’s ceremony finally found its hosts. The Television Academy officially confirmed that the father-son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy will share the hosting duties at this year’s ceremony.
Schitt’s Creek co-stars made Emmy history in 2020 as the first father and son to win major awards in the same year, and they’ll return to the scene of the crime in style—as the show’s hosting duo.
“For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough, We’re thrilled to be able to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television and can’t wait to spend the evening with you all,” they said in joint a statement.
The Television Academy chair Cris Abrego said that they’re thrilled to welcome two generations of comedy genius to the Emmy’s stage, and praised the Levys for being known for creating unforgettable laugh-out-loud moments on screen.
The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on September 15. Shōgun is the most nominated show with a total of 25 nods, followed by The Bear with 23 and Only Murders in the Building with 21.
