Just a few days after sweeping the Golden Globes, Succession emerged as the main contender at another major award show. The final season of HBO’s hit series will be in the running for five awards at the upcoming SAG Awards, including best ensemble in a drama series.
Succession is a clear front-runner for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series, but it will have to beat tough competition to take it home. The Crown, The Gilded Age, The Last of Us, and The Morning Show are also in the running in this field.
Succession could walk away with the maximum of three awards by the end of the night because its stars Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew Macfadyen all made it to the same category: outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series. Sarah Snook has been nominated for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series.
As for the comedy field, Ted Lasso and The Bear led the way with four nominations each. They’re both contenders for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series, alongside Abbot Elementary, Barry, and Only Murders in the Building.
The 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards will stream live on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles on February 24.
