The Saturn Awards are the most popular award shows celebrating sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and other overlooked genres, and they did it once again on Sunday night. Star Trek: Picard led the list of winners on the TV side, with a total of four awards.
Star Trek: Picard came into the ceremony as the most-nominated show with seven nods, and it managed to take four trophies home. Most notably, it was named the best science fiction television series, defeating the likes of The Mandalorian, Andor, and Silo.
Star Trek: Picard owes the rest of its awards to its amazing cast, including Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, and Jeri Ryan, who won awards in their respective acting categories.
Netflix’s Wednesday was one of the few shows to collect multiple awards this year, including the best fantasy television series and best performance by a younger actor in a television series for its star Jenna Ortega.
Starz’s historical epic Outlander also picked up two awards, including the best action/adventure/thriller television series and best actress in a television series for its leading lady Caitríona Balfe.
The 51st Saturn Awards took place on February 4, after being postponed in the face of Hollywood strikes. Joel McHale hosted the show from the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel in Burbank, California.
