Awards season is in full swing, and one of the biggest award shows of the year unveiled the list of nominees on Monday morning. The Golden Globe nominations are finally in, with The Bear is leading the way in the TV field with five nods, closely followed by Shōgun with four.
After winning big at last year’s ceremony, The Bear is returning as one of the main contenders for the best comedy series, along with Hacks, Abbott Elementary, Only Murders in the Building, Nobody Wants This, and The Bear. Its stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Liza Colon Zayes are all in the running for acting awards.
Shōgun emerged as the top contender in the drama field, where it’s one of the front-runners for the best drama series after dominating this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards. The Day of the Jackal, The Diplomat, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Slow Horses, and Squid Game have also been nominated in this category.
As for the best limited/anthology series, Baby Reindeer is one of the front-runners for this award. Disclaimer, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, The Penguin, Ripley, and True Detective: Night Country are right behind, and the race will be pretty tight since most of the shows in this field have three nods each.
The 2025 Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 5, 2025 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, with Nikki Glaser hosting the festivities for the first time.
