The Screen Actors Guild honored the best performances of the past year at the SAG Awards on Sunday night. Hollywood royalty flocked to Los Angeles for this star-studded award show, where Shōgun and Only Murders in the Building took the top television prizes home.
Shōgun came into the night with a total of five nods and managed to dominate all the categories it was nominated in. In defeated the likes of Bridgerton, The Day of the Jackal, Slow Horses, and The Diplomat to win the trophy for the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series.
Hiroyuki Sanada defeated his co-star Tadanobu Asano to win the award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series, while Anna Sawai collected the trophy for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series. Shōgun was also honored with the award for the outstanding performance by a stunt ensemble in a television series.
It was also a night to remember for the cast of Only Murders in the Building. After losing the award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series to Ted Lasso, Abbott Elementary, and The Bear, they finally managed to win this accolade on their fourth try. Martin Short also won an individual acting award for his performance in this hit murder mystery comedy.
The 2025 SAG Awards were held on February 23 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, with Kristen Bell hosting for the second time.
