August has always been a pretty slow month for new TV releases because everyone’s saving their best new shows for fall, but that seems to be changing. Our favorite streamers are bringing some amazing new shows our way this month, and here are five worth checking out.
Batman: Caped Crusader (Amazon Prime Video, August 1)
August is bringing many amazing animated series our way, and this one explores the tale of the young Bruce Wayne from the detective noir aspects.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (Netflix, August 1)
Wednesday breakout star Emma Myers gets to shine in the spotlight in this series about a curious teen trying to solve the murder of a local girl in her sleepy English town, five years after it happened.
Bad Monkey (August 14, Apple TV+)
Vince Vaughn leads this series about a former detective who gets a taste of his old life when an unusual new case emerges while he’s working as a restaurant inspector in Florida.
Kaos (Netflix, August 29)
This dark comedy puts a modern twist on Greek mythology, and it sees Jeff Goldblum’s Zeus becoming paranoid and vengeful after becoming aware of three humans who might put an end to his reign.
Terminator Zero (Netflix, August 29)
This anime series is set in Japan, and it will see The Terminator sent back to the past to kill a scientist who’s developing an advanced AI system intended to compete with Skynet.
