We’ve already shared which TV shows we’re gutted are ending this year (more on that here), but we haven’t yet celebrated all the brand new debut series to come. So for a healthy bit of balance, here’s that list of shows now.
Watchmen
The popular graphic novel has been adapted into a TV series, and we couldn’t be more excited to see the HBO interpretation.
The Witcher
Netflix have adapted the popular video game The Witcher into a live-action series. The show will be more closely linked to the books than the game and is one of the most anticipated TV shows of the year.
What We Do In The Shadows
Remember the mockumentary the guys from Flight of the Concords did a few years ago about vampires? Years later, it’s getting its own series.
The Umbrella Academy
My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way wrote a series of graphic novels, which are now being adapted for TV. It follows a dysfunctional family of superheroes and Ellen Page is on the cast list.
The Dark Crystal: The Age Of Resistance
The cult classic The Dark Crystal is getting a puppet prequel starring the likes of Taron Eggerton and Helena Bonham Carter. Expect a beautiful fantasy adventure series which tells the untold story of Thra.
