5 Promising New Shows You Shouldn’t Miss This May

Each new month brings an impressive slate of brand-new TV series our way, and this May will be no exception. From the World War II drama The Tattooist of Auschwitz to the sci-fi thriller Dark Matter, here are five shows worth checking out this month.

The Tattooist of Auschwitz (Peacock, May 2)

Based on Heather Morris’ novel of the same name, this Holocaust drama tells the powerful real-life story of Lale Sokolov, who tattooed ID numbers on fellow prisoners’ arms during his time at Auschwitz concentration camp.

A Man in Full (Netflix, May 2)

Created by David E. Kelley and led by Jeff Daniels, this limited series centers on an Atlanta real estate mogul trying to protect his business interests during his fall from grace.

Dark Matter (Apple TV+, May 8)

If you’re in the mood for an intriguing sci-fi drama, make sure to check out Dark Matter. It stars Joel Edgerton as a physicist in Chicago, who finds himself stuck in an alternate version of his life and must try to find his way back home.

Bodkin (Netflix, May 9)

This darkly comedic series will take us to an idyllic Irish town, where a group of misfits join forces to make a podcast about the mysterious disappearance of three strangers, only to discover a much bigger story.

Eric (Netflix, May 30)

Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch leads the psychological thriller Eric, which centers on a grief-stricken father who comes up with an unusual way to cope with the disappearance of his son.
