With a new season on the way, we can’t be the only ones re-watching seasons one to six of the epic drama Prison Break. Here are six facts we bet you didn’t know about the show.
Michael’s tattoo is unrealistic
Michael’s tattoo would have cost him $20,000 to get done and would have taken over four years to complete. This is a lot longer than it took him to get it finished on the show.
The tattoo is fake
Ok, you probably guessed that, but did you know that Wentworth Miller had to sit in the make-up chair for 4.5 hours every day to get the body art applied?
Sara Tancredi almost died
Michael’s love interest, Sara, was actually going to be killed off in season one. Thankfully, fans warmed to her so the producers decided to keep her around.
It’s banned in some prisons
The show is actually banned in several prisons. Perhaps the guards worry the show will inspire a breakout.
Joliet Correctional Center
This is where all of the prison scenes in season one were filmed. This makes the layout and cells eerily authentic.
The warden has done time
Stacy Keach, who plays Warden Pope at Fox River, actually spent 6 months in prison in the 80’s on drug charges. He claims to base his performance in the show on his old prison warden.
