The procedural drama 9-1-1: Lone Star took us on quite a ride over the years, but its final chapter is on the horizon. Its fifth season is coming our way this month, and it will mark a swan song for a team of brave first responders from Austin, Texas.

9-1-1: Lone Star is led by Rob Lowe in the role of a New York firefighter who moves from Manhattan to Austin to rebuild a firehouse that experienced a tragedy of their own. In addition to Lowe, the cast also includes Gina Torres, Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Julian Works, Rafael Silva, and Brianna Baker.

Michael Thorn, president of Fox Television Network, confirmed the show’s cancelation and thanked its creative team, led by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, for creating one of the most action-packed dramas anywhere.

“Now in our final season of the show, we’re set to give it the high-stakes send-off it deserves, complete with breathless rescues, insurmountable odds, and relatable personal struggles, thanks to our incomparable, stellar cast led by Rob Lowe and Gina Torres,” said Thorn in a statement.

Season 5 of 9-1-1: Lone Star will return to Fox on September 23, and it will feature a total of 12 episodes.
