2024 will be an unforgettable year for the fans of Grey’s Anatomy because its seminal 20th season is just around the corner. ABC dropped the first trailer for the next chapter of the hit medical drama, revealing the challenges that the staff of Grey Sloan Memorial will be facing in Season 20.

The Season 20 trailer was released ahead of the show’s premiere in March, and it confirms Meredith Grey’s brief return, even after Ellen Pompeo stepped down as a series regular. Chandra Wilson, James Pickens, Jr., Kevin McKidd, Caterina Scorsone, and Kim Raver will also be back, while Kate Walsh and Jesse Williams will make guest appearances.

Several Grey’s Anatomy cast members reunited at this year’s Emmy Awards ahead of the Season 20 premiere. Justin Chambers, Katherine Heigl, James Pickens Jr., and Chandra Wilson hit the stage alongside the show’s titular heroine, Ellen Pompeo.

“When the first episode of Grey’s Anatomy aired in March 2005, I’m not sure Shonda Rhimes knew that she had created a show that would have a lasting imprint on television and create lifelong friendships,” said Pompeo during their Emmy speech.

Grey’s Anatomy will return on March 14, and its 20th season will only feature ten episodes due to strike-related delays last year.
