It’s only been a few days since the third season of Abbott Elementary premiered on ABC, but its future is looking bright! Abbott teachers will continue spreading knowledge for another school year after this hit comedy series received Season 4 renewal.

William Stanford Davis, who plays Mr. Johnson in ABC’s hit sitcom, made a special appearance during Disney’s Television Critics Association Press Tour, revealing Abbott Elementary will be back for another ride.

It’s safe to expect he’ll be back with the rest of the show’s main cast including Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, and Sheryl Lee Ralph.

This announcement comes just a few days after Abbott Elementary returned for its third season on February 7. The season premiere introduced us to several new recurring players, including Josh Segarra, Benjamin Norris, and Kimia Behpoornia.

ABC is yet to reveal how many episodes the next season will feature, but creator Quinta Brunson said she had as much fun working on the shortened third season.

“Honestly, I liked having this 14-episode count because it made me think that we needed to be more creative with the time we had… We had to go back to business, back to basics, kind of push the stories we wanted to tell into a smaller episode count,” Brunson told Business Insider.
