ABC renewed some of their most popular procedural dramas earlier this week, and Will Trent is also safe and sound. The police procedural crime drama led by Ramón Rodríguez will officially be back for its third season at ABC.

Based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling Will Trent series, this procedural drama centers on the titular special agent working for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. After being abandoned at birth and spending his childhood in Atlanta’s foster care system, he uses his unique point of view to pursue justice and make sure no one is left behind like he was.

In addition to Rodríguez in the lead role, this series also stars Sonja Sohn as Amanda Wagner, Erika Christensen as Angie Polaski, Iantha Richardson as Faith Mitchell, and Jake McLaughlin as Michael Ormewood.

Will Trent premiered on ABC in early 2023, and its rollout was pretty quick on the heels of the promising performance of the show’s first season. ABC gave it an early renewal for Season 2, which premiered this February and recently scored its highest-rated episode ever, with 9.02 million total viewers over seven days.

ABC also reports that Will Trent managed to reach nearly 70 million total viewers across platforms since its premiere.
