The Good Doctor is one of ABC’s most popular medical dramas right now, but Dr. Shaun Murphy is getting ready to hang its coat. The first trailer for the show’s upcoming seventh and final season is here, and it teases the beginning of the end.

The Good Doctor draws inspiration from the South Korean series of the same name, and it centers on a young autistic surgeon with a troubled past, working at a prestigious hospital in California. Freddie Highmore will return in the show’s final season, alongside Chuku Modu, Richard Schiff, Fiona Gubelmann, Will Yun Lee, Christina Chang, Paige Spara, Bria Samoné Henderson, and Noah Galvin.

Highmore said that playing Dr. Shaun Murphy was one of the most remarkable and rewarding experiences of my life when the show’s cancelation was announced, and thanked everyone who made it possible.

“I will always be grateful to David, Liz, and Erin as well as the hugely talented – and lovely – cast, writers, and crew who made this show possible. Caring deeply is what got us here. Thank you to Sony and ABC, and to everyone who has watched along at home,” said Highmore in a statement.

The Good Doctor will return to ABC on February 20, and it will feature ten episodes due to strike-impacted delays.
