The ensemble cast of S-x Education has been doing great things since this series ended its run, including Aimee Lou Wood! The BAFTA-winning star has several exciting new projects lined up, including the recently announced six-part BBC series Film Club.
Film Club will star Wood as Evie, who hosts a weekly film club in her garage every week, where she develops a strong bond with a fellow cinephile Tom. They struggle to confess their feeling to each other, but Evie realizes she must finally speak up after Tom accepts a job at the other end of the country.
In addition to playing the lead role, Film Club will mark the debut writing project for Wood, who joined forces with the Obsession producer Gaumont to bring it to life.
“Jamie at Gaumont has been the most incredible collaborator and the BBC is the perfect home. Three of the most essential things to me have always been writing stories, watching films, and acting so the fact I get to write a story ABOUT watching films AND act in it is beyond joyful,” said Wood in a statement to Radio Times.
Film Club isn’t the only project keeping her busy – Wood will also appear in the third season of The White Lotus, which is filming in Thailand.
