Apple TV+ is rounding out a pretty impressive cast for their upcoming series The Last Frontier, and another acclaimed actress just joined its ensemble. The four-time Emmy winner Alfre Woodard will star opposite Jason Clarke in this star-studded drama series.

According to the streamer’s official logline, The Last Frontier will center on “US Marshall Frank Remnick, the lone Marshal in charge of the quiet, rugged barrens of Alaska, whose jurisdiction is turned upside-down when a prison transport plane crashes in the remote wilderness, setting free dozens of violent inmates.”

Jon Bokenkamp and Richard D’Ovidio created this series for Apple TV+ and they’ll executive produce it alongside Clarke and Sam Hargrave, who’ll direct the pilot episode.

Clarke will lead the series in the role of Frank Remnick, alongside Haley Bennett (Swallow), Dominic Cooper (Preacher), Simone Kessell (Terra Nova), Tait Blum (For All Mankind), Dallas Goldtooth (Reservation Dogs). Alfre Woodard will join them as Bradford, a top leader in the CIA.

Woodard has four Emmy Awards under her belt from a total of 18 nominations, but she hasn’t received a nod since being nominated for Steel Magnolias in 2013. She previously collaborated with Apple TV+ on See, and her recent TV credits also include supporting roles in Luke Cage, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Empire.
