It looks as though our prayers have been answered.
The second season of American Gods has only just premiered and it has already been renewed for season three.
Based on the novel by Neil Gaiman, it follows ex-convict Shadow Moon who meets a conman named Mr. Wednesday who introduces him to some interesting characters.
Despite the series’ popularity, its second season almost didn’t come into being. Showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green left the project over budgetary and creative issues. Their departure meant that series regulars, Gillian Anderson and Kristin Chenoweth, followed suit.
Jesse Alexander was brought in to helm the Starz production but was subsequently pushed to the sidelines.
It’s hoped that season three of American Gods will run smoother as The Walking Dead producer, Charles Eglee, has signed on as showrunner.
Let’s hope the Old and New Gods will be on their side.
