In the past, several recognizable people have made their return to the hit ABC show Grey’s Anatomy. One particular character is set to make a surprising comeback to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital very soon.

Eight Years Apart

Actress Sarah Utterback, who played Nurse Olivia Harper, will return to the show on April 26. The Iowa native was part of the show from season one to four and season six. Her character was fired during layoffs prior to the Mercy West merger. This time, she returns with her son, and her former boyfriend Alex will be quite alarmed by her presence. The episode “Bad Reputation” was directed by Grey’s Anatomy actor Kevin McKidd and written by Emmy Award-winning screenwriter Mark Driscoll.

Back At It Again

Since leaving Grey’s Anatomy, Utterback landed the role of Alison in the web series Reception. Aside from acting, she’s also the co-founder of the IAMA Theater Company in Los Angeles. Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes is a patron of the company. Utterback was originally slated for a two-episode appearance, but Rhimes decided to keep her around longer. “She has employed so many talented people I love & I am so grateful for her presence in my life,” she posted on Instagram.
