Disney+ is bringing back Goosebumps for its second season, and they’re slowly rounding out its ensemble. Ana Ortiz has been cast in a key role in this anthology series, along with five more actors who will lead the show’s young cast, including Sam McCarthy and Jayden Bartels.
Based on the book series by R. L. Stine, Goosebumps premiered on Disney+ last year, and the streamer revamped it as an anthology series when they announced its renewal. Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman developed the series for Disney+, while Hilary Winston serves as its showrunner.
Season 2 will shift the focus to “teenage siblings who discover a threat stirring, triggering a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery”, eventually finding themselves “entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.”
Ana Ortiz (Love, Victor) is joining David Schwimmer as Jen, a dedicated police detective from Brooklyn, who experienced a tragic event involving her friends in adolescence.
Sam McCarthy (Dead to Me) and Jayden Bartels (Side Hustle) will lead the young cast as fraternal twins Devin and Cece. They’ll be joined by Elijah Cooper (That Girl Lay Lay) as CJ, Galilea La Salvia (Party Down) as Frankie, and Francesca Noel (R#J) as Alex.
