Anora is one of the buzziest films of the year, and it’s just a matter of time before we start seeing its cast everywhere. Breakout star Mark Eydelshteyn is slowly making waves in Hollywood, after being cast in the lead role in the next season of the hit Amazon Prime Video series Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
The first season of this acclaimed action comedy starred Donald Glover and Maya Erskine as two lonely strangers, who must navigate high-risk missions around the world after agreeing to work for a mysterious spy agency that offers them a glorious life of espionage and wealth.
Gloves and Erskine’s characters were only one of couples working together under the alias John and Jane Smith, opening the door for this series to introduce new couples in future seasons. They’re reportedly not expected to return for Season 2, and Eydelshteyn is the first new actor joining the cast in the role of Mr. Smith.
Eidelstein is a Russian actor who starred in several films and TV series in his native land before getting international recognition for his role in Sean Baker’s Anora. This indie rom-com was honored with the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival this spring, and it’s one of the front-runners in this year’s Oscars race.
