It’s been a few months since Still Up premiered on Apple TV+, but the streamer eventually decided to put it to sleep. The British comedy series about two insomniacs with a special bond will officially end after only one season.
Created for Apple TV+ by Steve Burge and Natalie Walter, this series centered on best friends Lisa and Danny as they “stay connected to each other late into the night and find their way through a world of wonderfully weird surprises as their relationship deepens,” after being bonded by insomnia.
Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor) and Craig Roberts (Red Oaks) led the cast of this series. They were joined by Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners) as Lisa’s reliable and eternally optimistic partner Veggie, Lois Chimimba (The Outlaws) as Amy, a woman Danny meets on a dating app, Luke Fetherston (Pandora) as Adam, Danny’s fireman neighbor, and Rich Fulcher (Kidding) as Danny’s strange neighbor Cat Man.
Apple TV+ hasn’t given an official reason for the show’s cancellation, but they most likely shelved it due to low viewership. Despite not coming back for another season of this series, Thomas will reunite with Roberts in the upcoming horror-comedy The Scurry, which he’ll direct.
