There’s been a lot of uncertainty surrounding Ted Lasso ever since Season 3 wrapped up, and Apple TV+ finally dropped some hints about its future. The streamer teased a potential next chapter of the story on social media, but they’re yet to confirm its renewal or spin-off.

One of the recent photos on Apple TV’s social media channels shows new coaches Beard (Brendan Hunt), Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein), and Nate (Nick Mohammed) standing by each other’s side and looking at Ted Lasso’s “Believe” sign. Apple TV+ captioned the photo with the words “Smells like potential”, hinting at a possible continuation of the acclaimed sitcom.

Brendan Hunt, who co-created the series alongside Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, and Joe Kelly addressed its future in a recent Reddit AMA session and said they need to sit down and decompress for a while before making any decisions.

“My pat answer, that is also 100% true: We don’t know. We need a break and will take one presently. Nothing has been ruled out, everything is possible, but that includes the possibility that we’re done,” wrote Hunt.

The season 3 finale of Ted Lasso neatly wrapped up the story of all the main characters and saw the titular hero move back to the US. His message to Trent Crimm about his book The Lasso Way, “I’d change the title. It’s not about me. It never was” hinted that the series could continue and shift focus to the supporting cast.
