The first season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters captivated Apple TV+ subscribers, and the streamer is looking forward to expanding this universe. This hit series has been renewed for its second season, and Apple TV+ is also plotting several spin-offs set in the same universe.
The first season of Monarch was set in the aftermath of the battle between Godzilla and other giant monsters, known as the Titans. After coming to terms with the fact that monsters are real, Cate and Kentaro Randa must uncover the buried secrets that link them to a mysterious organization that monitors giant monsters, called the Monarch.
Kurt and Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, John Goodman, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski led the cast of the first season, and Apple TV+ is yet to announce who’s coming back for Season 2.
Morgan Wandell, head of international development for Apple TV+, praised this series for leaving an indelible imprint on the hearts, minds, and imaginations of audiences around the world, and said they’re looking forward to expanding this franchise.
“We couldn’t be more excited for viewers to not only have the chance to experience even more thrills in season two, but to embark on epic, new journeys in the franchise, as we expand Legendary’s Monsterverse,” said Wandell in a statement.
