It’s been a few months since Dark Matter premiered on Apple TV+, and the streamer finally made a decision about its future. The acclaimed sci-fi drama led by Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly will return for Season 2.

Dark Matter centers on a physicist Jason Dessen, who’s abducted into an alternate version of his life and must fight to leave the labyrinth of realities that he could’ve lived and return to his true family in order to save them from the most terrifying foe imaginable – another version of himself.

In addition to Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly in the lead roles, the cast of this project also includes Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, and Oakes Fegley.

Blake Crouch, who adapted this series for Apple TV+ from his own novel of the same name, confirmed its renewal and thanked everyone who made the first season happen and tuned in to watch it.

“In the process of writing and filming season one, we discovered that there’s so much more story to tell, and we’ve only scratched the surface of these characters as they fight for survival and to find their way home through a landscape of mind-bending realities. See you in the Box!” said Crouch in a statement.
