The second season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series Monster is underway, and its cast is getting more impressive by the day. Ari Graynor joined Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story in the role of the acclaimed defense attorney Leslie Abramson.
The second season of Murphy’s series will center on Lyle and Erik Menendez, who murdered their parents Jose and Kitty in their LA-area home during the late 80s. They came under investigation months later and eventually confessed to committing the crime, claiming they decided to take this drastic step after years of physical and emotional abuse.
Graynor is joining the series as Leslie Abramson, a prominent Los Angeles defense attorney who served as the lead counsel for Erik Menendez. The cast will also include Nicholas Chavez and Cooper Koch as the Menendez brothers, Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny as their parents, and Nathan Lane as Dominick Dunne, the journalist who covered their trial for Vanity Fair.
Graynor most recently starred in HBO’s sports drama Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, which was canceled by HBO after two seasons last September. Her list of credits on the TV side also includes major roles in Fringe, Bad Teacher, I’m Dying Up Here, and Mrs. America.
