Arrow may be coming to an end, but some of its most beloved characters are not going anywhere.

The CW has announced that it will be creating a spin-off that will focus on Green Arrow and the Canaries.

As fans will know, Green Arrow is the alter-ego of Mia Smoak, Oliver Queen’s daughter. She was introduced in season 7 during an episode set in the future and hinted at the character following in her father’s footsteps as a vigilante despite knowing little about him and not being that enamored with traditional costumed heroes.

Katherine McNamara will reprise her role as Smoak, and star alongside Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy as Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake, respectively.

“The fact that seven years ago, we introduced Arrow, who would have thought it would have spawned six shows, a whole universe that they managed to create. It’s quite a remarkable feat,” said CW boss Mark Pedowitz. “We believe these franchises, this universe will continue for many years, so it’s important to ensure that you have characters that will keep the fans coming back. How that universe plays out, time will tell.”

The final season of Arrow begins on October 15th.
