]]>Returning for Season 2 is executive producer and showrunner Eric Heisserer and the main cast which includes Jessie Mei Li, Archie Renaux, Freddy Carter, Amita Suman, Kit Young, Danielle Galligan, Calahan Skogman, and Ben Barnes, and the goat Milo.
The show is based on the best-selling Grishaverse book series by Leigh Bardugo, who is executive producing. It’s set in the mythical kingdom of Ravka, which is split in two by a dark storm called the Fold.
“I’m honored and thrilled to return to the Grishaverse and continue the stories of these endearing characters, particularly Milo,” Heisserer said in a statement.
“I’ve been writing in the Grishaverse for nearly ten years now, so I’m thrilled we get to keep this adventure going,” Bardugo said. “There are so many places we’ve barely gotten to visit and I can’t wait to introduce our audience to more of the saints, soldiers, thugs, thieves, princes and privateers who make this world so much fun to explore. It’s going to be real magic to see our brilliant, talented cast expand.”
Shadow and Bone debuted on April 23 on Netflix and it reached No. 1 on the streamer’s Top 10 list in 79 countries. More than 55 million households watched the series during the first 28 days, according to Netflix.

]]>The Netflix series is about Devi, a first-generation Indian American’s, high school experiences. Devi, a high school sophomore who has trouble controlling her anger, is dealing with her first loves and the sudden death of her father.
Ramakrishnan told Variety, “It’s awesome because I’m seeing so many people saying, ‘Oh my God, I can relate to this so much.’ Whether it’s something as simple as one of the arm hair jokes — because let’s be real, even though I’m 100% confident with my arm hair, there are days where I go up to my father and I say, ‘Why did you do this to me? Why can’t you give me anything else?’”
“Or somebody saying, ‘Thank you, this made me really realize I have some unpacking to do with the loss of a family member’…That’s all I wanted from this show. Emmys for the cast, Emmys for the direction, a Nobel Peace Prize — I’m not opposed — but, in all seriousness, this is all I wanted from the show,” she continued.

]]>According to US Weekly, CBS is talking with former players for a new all-star season to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary. Reportedly, negotiations are currently happening between past winners and fan-favorite houseguests.
The show premiered in 2020 and is hosted by Julie Chen. In past seasons, the show has brought back former houseguests, but this would be the first all-star season since Mike “Boogie” Malin’s Season 7 win in 2006. Typically, the season premieres in late June or early July, but due to the coronavirus, Season 22 would be pushed back until later this summer, and players will be sequestered for longer than usual with a 14-day quarantine prior to the season’s start date.
CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl was hopeful about the summer reality show’s returning, which also includes Love Island. “It could be a little later than usual but we’re still optimistic about getting those on,” he said. “Those shows turn around pretty quickly. Big Brother has live shows every week, and Love Island literally airs the night after it shoots. Those shows do not have long post processes.”

]]>Set to air on June 8, 2020, the show decided to push back the release to an unspecified date later in 2020 as the country has been having a backlash against police shows on television following recent events.
L.A.’s Finest stars Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba as LAPD detectives who bring down the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles while not always following the rules, but they make a great team both on the job and in each other’s personal lives. Burnett is a revival of the character Union played in the 2003 Bad Boys II film and her character relocates to Miami to get away from her complicated past.
Fox acquired the rights to broadcast both seasons less than a month ago and they were planning on airing them in the fall. Season 1 is still set to air on the network this fall.
Jerry Bruckheimer Television and 2.0 Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures TV and Charter Communications produced the series. Union, Alba, Jerry Bruckheimer, Brandon Margolis, Brandon Sonnier, Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Pam Veasey, Doug Belgrad, Jeff Gaspin, Jeff Morrone and Anton Cropper served as executive producers.

]]>Created by Stephen Warren and Johnnie Ingram, the show stars the three queens traveling to the Bible Belt and other conservative areas of the country. When they arrive, they give drag makeovers to local LGBTQ and straight residents for a live show that they perform at the end of the week.
“We’re Here resonates in ways we had hoped for but couldn’t really have anticipated,” said executive vice president of HBO programming Nina Rosenstein. “The stories of our small-town drag daughters created an incredibly positive communal experience. We can’t wait for Bob, Shangela, and Eureka to continue their journey helping others find their voice.”
In Season 1 the queens traveled to Gettysburg, PA, Twin Falls, ID, Branson, MO, Farmington, NM, and Ruston, LA. The season finale aired on June 4 and featured the queens’ personal stories that have made them who they are today.
In an interview with Variety, Bob revealed they had many run-ins with police while filming, “We got the cops called on us three times in Branson. They just didn’t like that we were there and they just called the cops on us. We beat it before the cops showed up. We were riding dirty.”

]]>Australian comic Hannah Gadsby’s hour-long set offers a moving reflection on life and trauma mixed in with some humor. The special was very much talked about when it was first released, and revolutionized the way we think and talk about comedy as she isn’t afraid to tackle controversial topics and that’s why you need to check her out. It’s obviously still worth a watch, alongside her newly released special, Douglas.
In less than a year, Chappelle released four stand-up specials on Netflix including Deep in the Heart of Texas, The Age of Spin, Equanimity, and The Bird Revelation. The one to watch is The Age of Spin, which focuses on race, technology, Bill Cosby, and OJ Simpson.
Hasan Minhaj (The Daily Show) recounts his life as the son of Indian-American immigrants and all of the cultural differences that come with growing up with immigrant parents in America. He’s brutally honest about being brown in America without preaching about political issues going on in the country.
Wong has been a writer on Fresh Off the Boat since 2014. Her first comedy special on Netflix tackles pregnancy, feminism, and being a woman of Asian descent in America and is hilarious all the way. The special was filmed in September 2015, when Wong was seven months pregnant with her first child. Wong’s second Netflix special, Hard Knock Wife, is also worth a watch.
The 2016 comedy special takes a deeper look into all aspects of the entertainment industry including rap artists, country music, and Lip Sync Battle. His one-liners and ability to get to the point make his darker comedy funny.
The Saturday Night Live writer talks about anything and everything ranging from school assemblies, manners, church, college, and aging. He even touches on politics and the special won an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.
