The first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender was one wild ride, and Aang’s journey will continue for two more seasons. Netflix renewed the live-action anime adaptation for its second and third season, which will also mark the final chapter of this series.

Avatar: The Last Airbender draws inspiration from Nickelodeon’s series of the same name and chronicles the adventures of the twelve-year-old Aang, the last living Airbender who must master the powers of the four elements and take his rightful place as the next Avatar.

Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, and Ian Ousley led the show’s ensemble cast as Aang, Katar, and Sokka. They were joined by Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, Ken Leung as Commander Zhao, and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai.

Renewing Avatar: The Last Airbender for two more seasons makes total sense for Netflix, given the show’s instant success. This series attracted 21.2 million viewers and was watched for 154.4 million hours during its debut week on Netflix and topped the streamer’s global TV list for two weeks in a row.

In addition to renewing Avatar: The Last Airbender for two more seasons, Netflix also announced this series will end with Season 3, following the same structure as the original anime it’s based on.
