Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender went down in history as one of the most beloved anime of the 2000s, and its live-action remake is just around the corner! Netflix gave us a glimpse of Aang’s fantastical journey in the first full trailer for this highly-anticipated series.

Set in a world ruled by four elements – water, earth, fire, and air – Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place in the aftermath of the war that the Fire Nation led against the Air Nomads, believing they’ve wiped them out – until one last survivor emerges.

“Hope springs forth when Aang, a young Air Nomad – and the last of his kind – reawakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar. Alongside his newfound friends Sokka and Katara, Aang embarks on a fantastical, action-packed quest to save the world,” reads Netflix’s press release.

The live-action adaptation of the beloved anime will star Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, and Ian Ousley as Sokka, alongside Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as General Iroh, Elizabeth Yu as Princess Azula, and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai.

Avatar: The Last Airbender will arrive on Netflix on February 22, and the first season is expected to feature eight episodes, with Albert Kim serving as showrunner.
