Following the success of the Dune movies, HBO started plotting several potential series set in this universe, and the first spin-off will soon see the light of day. The new teaser trailer for Dune: Prophecy is here, and it chronicles the origins of the Bene Gesserit.

Dune: Prophecy is set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, and it chronicles the journey of two Harkonnen sisters “as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.”

Bene Gesserit is a powerful sisterhood, whose members are committed to training their bodies and minds to gain superhuman powers and use them to direct humanity on an enlightened path.

Emily Watson and Olivia Williams lead the cast as Valya and Tula Harkonnen, with Travis Fimmel, Johdi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason and Shalom Brune-Franklin in supporting roles.

Dune: Prophecy will feature a total of six episodes, set to debut on HBO and Max this November. It was originally developed as a Max original before being rebranded as an HBO show, just like several other Warner Bros. IP series with a high budget and cinematic scope.
