It’s official, Benidorm has been cancelled.

Earlier this year, just before season 10 came to an end, series creator Derren Litten shared over Twitter that it was “crazy to think Wednesday will be the last episode of Benidorm“.

Fans naturally speculated over whether the tweet was referring to the season 10 finale, or if the tweet meant that the show was being wrapped up for good.

Following rumours, Litten has now confirmed that the later is true.

He wrote “Yes folks it’s true, after months of speculation, I can finally confirm Benidorm series 10 was the LAST EVER TV SERIES of @BenidormTVshow.”

Litten continued to say that although the show is cancelled, the Benidorm journey is still not over.

He added: “But the story continues in the form of benidormonstage.com – Come see us on tour and see what happens next!”

In response to the news, fans of the show are calling for a movie to reunite the characters, or at least a proper finale that wraps up the show and brings back old favourites. Litten is currently developing the popular series into a TV show, but who knows what will come next?
