Bob Odenkirk in "Better Call Saul"

AMC has announced on Thursday that season four of their critically acclaimed crime drama Better Call Saul will premiere on August 6, 2018. This means that the fans of the series will have to wait for more than usual for the new episodes, given the fact that the first two seasons of Better Call Saul premiered in February of 2015 and 2016, while the third season premiered in April 2017.

Besides the premiere date, AMC also revealed an official synopsis, which gives a glimpse of what we can expect from season four. It also confirms that Chuck is really dead and debunks the theory that he might have survived the events of season three. You can check it out below:

“In Better Call Saul‘s fourth season, Chuck’s death catalyzes Jimmy McGill’s transformation into Saul Goodman. In the wake of his loss, Jimmy takes steps into the criminal world that will put his future as a lawyer — and his relationship with Kim — in jeopardy. Chuck’s death deeply affects former colleagues Howard (Patrick Fabian) and Kim as well, putting the two of them once again on opposite sides of a battle sparked by the Brothers McGill. While Mike takes a more active role as Madrigal Electromotive’s newest (and most thorough) security consultant. It’s a volatile time to be in Gus Fring’s employ, as Hector’s collapse sends shock waves throughout the Albuquerque underworld and throws the cartel into chaos — tearing apart both Gus and Nacho’s well-laid plans. While Gus changes course, Nacho finds himself in the crosshairs of deadly forces.”

Created by Vince Gilligan, Better Call Saul is a prequel spin-off of Gilligan’s critically acclaimed series Breaking Bad. Set in the early 2000s, the series revolves around a small-time lawyer Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), telling the story about his transformation into Saul Goodman, who we meet in Breaking Bad.

Like its predecessor, Better Call Saul became a huge success for AMC, receiving glowing reviews from the critics and setting record-breaking ratings for the network.
