“Big Bang Theory” Director Hints At Possibility of Future Spin-off Series

The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory director Mark Cendrowski has teased future spin-offs of the show.

The popular CBS sitcom recently came to an end after twelve seasons of geeky entertainment. At present, the show has one spin-off, Young Sheldon. The spin-off tells the story of Sheldon navigating through pre-teen life with his bible-bashing mother.

Director Mark Cendrowski has now hinted that future spin-offs may be possible down the line.

“At the end of The Big Bang Theory‘s run, once we decided to end the show, Chuck Lorre, the creator, was like, ‘Look not everyone’s involved in this, it’s not a Big Bang episode,'” he told Forbes.

“That’s not to say that there may not be something down the line, but I don’t think anyone wanted to jump into the next season and spin someone off immediately. I think the idea of letting things percolate a little, and you don’t want to cash in.”

He later added: “If in five years Chuck Lorre decided to bring back some characters and try something again, I would love to be involved. It would be just a continuation.

“There’s plenty to explore with their lives and characters moving forward. That said, it would have to be its own show with its own reason for being.”

It sounds like nothing is currently in the works but that future character spin-offs are not out the question. We have our fingers crossed.
