All secrets will be revealed in June…
There was never supposed to be a second season to the television adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s novel, Big Little Lies.
But that’s because HBO probably hadn’t banked on just how popular the series would be — or the excellence of the performances that Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgard, and Reese Witherspoon would produce.
Both Kidman and Skarsgard won a plethora of awards, as did the series itself.
A second season was then commissioned, with even more big stars joining — including Meryl Streep.
Andrea Arnold who directed Red Road will be helming all 7 episodes of the sophomore installment which have now been scheduled for June.
But for those hoping that a third season will be in the wings, don’t count your chickens…
Producer David E. Kelly has said, “There’s no such plan now. We like our closure at the end of season 2 and that would probably be it.”
We hope we like it, too…
