USS Callister went down in history as one of the most successful Black Mirror episodes, and its story will soon continue. Netflix dropped some hints about the show’s seventh season during a recent See What’s Next event in London, and revealed that one of the new episodes will take us back to USS Callister.

USS Callister centered on a gifted but reclusive programmer Robert Daly (Jesse Plemons), who’s struggling to get the recognition he deserves from his co-workers. He deals with his frustration by simulating a Star Trek–inspired space adventure within a multiplayer online game after using his co-workers’ DNA to create their digital clones.

In addition to Plemons in the lead role, USS Callister also starred Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, Michaela Coel, Billy Magnussen, Milanka Brooks, and Osy Ikhile. It was a massive hit after it aired as the first episode of Season 4, and it went on to win four Emmy Awards.

According to Netflix’s teaser in London, “USS Callister will return… Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning.” Not much more is known at this point in time, but Black Mirror Charlie Brooker creator is coming back, alongside executive producers Annabel Jones and Jessica Rhodes. Season 7 will feature six new episodes, set to premiere in 2025.
