Apple TV+ series Government Cheese is rounding out its cast and three amazing actors just joined the gang. Bokeem Woodbine, Adam Beach, and Sunita Mani will star opposite David Oyelowo in this promising dramedy, based on a short film of the same name.

Inspired by Paul Hunter’s short film, Government Cheese will center on Hampton Chambers, a man who’s struggling to leave his criminal past behind after being released from prison, while processing moments of divine intervention happening with increasing frequency.

Hunter co-wrote the series with Ayesha Carr, and he serves as its director, co-showrunner, and executive producer. Oyelowo will also be credited as one of the EPs under his Yoruba Saxon banner.

The Emmy-nominated Fargo star Bokeem Woodbine is among three actors added to the cast, and he’ll join Oyelowo in an undisclosed role. He most recently appeared in Netflix’s Ripley, in addition to being a part of the main cast of the Paramount+ sci-fi series Fargo.

Sunita Mani rose to prominence with supporting roles in GLOW and Mr. Robot, and her recent credits include Nicole Holofcener’s film You Hurt My Feelings and M. Night Shyamalan’s series Servant. As for Adam Beach, his most notable TV roles include Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Arctic Air, and Nancy Drew.
