Brett Goldstein was one of the men responsible for bringing Shrinking to life, and he’ll play an even bigger role when this series comes back. The two-time Emmy winner, who co-created this dramedy for Apple TV+, will guest star in its second season.

Goldstein developed Shrinking alongside Bill Lawrence and Jason Segel, who leads the series as a grieving therapist Jimmy Laird. He decides to break all ethical barriers in the wake of his wife’s death and tell his clients exactly what he thinks.

In addition to Segel, the first season of Shrinking also starred Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Lukita Maxwell, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie, and Ted McGinley. Ted Lasso star and Shrinking co-creator Brett Goldstein will join them in Season 2 in a mystery guest role.

Goldstein previously discussed the possibility of joining the Shrinking cast in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. After Segel suggested he’d like to see him on the show, Goldstein said he’s open to the possibility, especially since he’s so connected to the material.

“I don’t really think there’s much difference between writing and acting. It’s just that one happens behind closed doors and one happens on camera… You’re just imagining it when you’re writing,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
