The rumors about the renewal of Bridgerton started circling around shortly after this show premiered on Netflix. The show’s proven to be such a huge hit that it was just a matter of time before it was actually renewed for the second season, and that moment is finally here.

The renewal announcement came in the form of one of Lady Whistledown’s infamous letters, which also confirmed that the new season will focus on Anthony Bridgerton.

The series creator Chris Van Dusen echoed this statement but added we can expect the beloved actors from Season 1 to make a comeback. “[Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor] are now, of course, the Duke and Duchess of Hastings but in my mind, they will always be Bridgertons and I think they will always be part of the show,” said Van Dusen during an interview on Today with Hoda & Jenna.

The second season of this Regency-era period drama about the rich and privileged Bridgerton family will start shooting in the UK in late spring. It will follow the extremely successful first season, which was viewed by 63 million households within its 28 first days on Netflix.
