It’s official, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is officially returning for the eighth season.
NBC has confirmed that the award-winning sitcom will indeed be returning for another season. They shared the news on Instagram in the form of a video of the cast discovering the news for the first time.
The whole cast cheered, with Joe Lo Truglio (Detective Charles Boyle) possibly appearing the most pleased by the news. The post was captioned: “It’s a gr8 day to be a Nine-Niner!” You can watch the clip below.
Season eight is good news, but fans are still waiting until 2020 for season seven to air. The show’s co-producer Dan Goor previously told Digital Spy that season seven will bring back a lot of fan favorites.
“I think we’re gonna bring back a lot of our favourites, who I think are also fan favourites,” he said. “We’re hoping to have a Pimento episode, we’re hoping to have a Pontiac Bandit episode obviously [and] hoping to have Marc Evan Jackson.
“And then we’re also hoping to do a few episodes that break the form in the way we did last season because that’s interesting for us and challenging.”
Season seven of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will return February 2020.
