Jack Ryan has “lost” out on its showrunner.
Carlton Cuse has announced that he will be stepping down from the role on the series based on Tom Clancy’s novels which is heading into its third season.
A Quiet Place star, John Krasinski, stars as the titular CIA operative in the Amazon show which was originally commissioned only for two seasons, but received an order for a third last month.
Sadly, however, the show will not be led by Cuse, though the Lost creator will stay on in the capacity as executive producer.
The decision is believed to have been prompted by the his new Netflix series, Locke & Key, about three children who return to their ancestral home following their father’s murder and must now protect themselves from evil creatures who wish to steal a set of magical keys.
A replacement for Cuse has yet to be announced.
