Many acclaimed filmmakers turned to television in recent years, and Alfonso Cuarón is ready to make that shift. Four-time Oscar winner directed and wrote the Apple TV+ limited series Disclaimer, and Cate Blanchett stars in the first trailer for this promising project.

Blanchett will lead the series as acclaimed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft, who spent her life revealing the misdeeds and transgressions of others before her own wrongdoings came to haunt her.

“When she receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets. As Catherine races to uncover the writer’s true identity, she is forced to confront her past before it destroys both her own life and her relationships,” reads the show’s official logline.

In addition to Blanchett in the lead role, Disclaimer also stars Sacha Baron Cohen as her husband Robert and Kodi Smit-McPhee as their son Nicholas. Kevin Kline, Lesley Manville, Louis Partridge, Leila George, and Hoyeon also star, plus Indira Varma as the show’s narrator.

Disclaimer will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September before making its global debut on October 11 on Apple TV+. New episodes will be released every Friday through November 15 following the two-episode premiere.
