NCIS: Sydney is the first NCIS spin-off to take this franchise to Australia, and its future in the Land Down Under is looking bright. CBS gave this military procedural a Season 2 renewal, and its next chapter will also air on Paramount+ Australia.

Just like the previous chapters in the NCIS story, this one followed a team of special agents investigating complex crimes. Sydney, Australia served as the setting for this spin-off, making it the first series in the NCIS franchise set outside of the United States.

Renewing NCIS: Sydney was a no-brainer for CBS after its Season 1 premiere reached over 10.2 million viewers in the U.S. alone. Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, praised this series for strengthening the global power of the NCIS franchise.

“Our American viewers have fully embraced these engaging characters, unique stories, and the fabulous Australian scenery. We are thrilled to bring this show back to CBS next season and spend even more time down under,” said Reisenbach in a statement.

NCIS: Sydney was created and executive produced by Morgan O’Neill, who has high expectations for Season 2. He said that the show’s next chapter will “see the bonds of the new family tested to breaking point in the face of a much more potent enemy looming on the horizon.”
