CBS recently renewed many of their most popular shows, and two more are officially coming back for another ride. The long-running police procedural drama NCIS will be back for Season 22, while the hit sitcom The Neighborhood has been renewed for its seventh season.
Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, released a statement announcing that both shows have been renewed and praised them for bringing their programming to new heights.
“The Neighborhood and NCIS are the very best definition of a CBS comedy and drama. They embody authentic storytelling with heart, humor, and family dynamics. We are proud to bring them back next season,” said Reisenbach in a statement.
NCIS is one of CBS’s most successful franchises, and it’s been on air for over two decades. It follows a team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, and it produced several hit spin-offs since its premiere, including NCIS: Los Angeles.
The Neighborhood has been a part of CBS’s programming since 2018, and it’s one of the network’s most successful sitcoms. It stars Max Greenfield as Dave Johnson, who struggles to fit in after moving to a predominantly African-American neighborhood in Los Angeles with his family, and often clashes with his next-door neighbor Calvin Butler (Cedric the Entertainer).
